Carl joined C & F Legal in March 2023 and is a senior solicitor in our commercial and property team.  Carl began his career at a mid-sized law firm in his hometown of Hamilton and, before moving to Nelson, spent two years working at a boutique corporate law firm in Vancouver, Canada.

Since joining the team at C & F Legal, Carl has been working closely with Kathy and Rick to support the firm’s clients in their business and property affairs.  Carl draws on the knowledge gained from his prior experience to advise on a broad range of commercial and property matters, and focuses on delivering pragmatic solutions to his clients’ needs.  Recently, he has been assisting clients with numerous business sales and purchases (both asset and share transactions), along with commercial and residential property transactions.  Carl also advises on commercial contracts, including shareholders’ agreements, commercial leases, supply agreements and terms of trade.  Carl is enjoying getting to know and work alongside the firm’s clients, and building his familiarity with the commercial environment in Nelson.    

Outside of work, Carl is a passionate mountain biker and outdoorsperson and is likely to be found on his bike in the local hills or out exploring the wider Nelson Tasman region with his fiancé and dog.

Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (2018)
